My Story

I am an adult amateur riding on the Michigan Hunter/Jumper Association (MHJA). Riding is my passion, but I have two things working against me: 1. I have a limited budget and 2. I am plus-sized. Even if I could afford the "in" belts, many did not come in my size. One day I was looking at a beautiful elastic belt that was $95, and I thought, "I could make this." After I made my first belt, a few barn mates asked me to make belts for them too.  I figured that I could help my fellow budget-conscious riders, and thus, the idea for RMBelts was born!

Setting Up Shop

I spent almost a year sourcing different elastics and belt clasps to find the best quality that would look great but would also hold up to the challenges we riders put our equipment through.   They are flexible, so they can move with you, and since they are flat they do not add any extra bulk to your waistline. Let’s face it, no one wants extra bulk there! These belts are also great for kids since they are adjustable and can grow with your child.  All of my belts are handmade and completely custom. You pick your elastic size, your elastic color, what clasp you want, and your size. While I do offer 4 sizes you can also get a completely custom size without an adjustable slide for an even sleeker look. While I started this for equestrians, I have also had non-equestrians purchase and love these belts!
